Matthew 24

Jesus Foretells Destruction of the Temple

1 And Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way; and his disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple. 2 But he answered and said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

<>>>> MCK notes:  All Beginning Of Time and End of Time judgments center around the Temple, and lead to the Bride and the Bridegroom, The Lamb and the New Jerusalem being the Temple.

Signs of the Close of the Age

3 And as he sat on the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man lead you astray. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and shall lead many astray. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that ye be not troubled: for [these things] must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and earthquakes in divers places. 8 But all these things are the beginning of travail.

<>>>> MCK notes:  All this must occur before the great and final Shavuot, as indicated by Yehoshua in response to the repetition of this question by the talmudim/disciples after the resurrection, Acts 1.

9 Then shall they deliver you up unto tribulation, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all the nations for my name's sake. 10 And then shall many stumble, and shall deliver up one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall arise, and shall lead many astray. 12 And because iniquity shall be multiplied, the love of the many shall wax cold. 13 But he that endures to the end, the same shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come.

<>>>> MCK notes:  All commentary on the coming of the Christ/Mashiach and the end of this preparatory history of the world, from the fall of the Adam until now, which fails to recognize that it is the announcement of the Good News of the Eternal Messianic Kingdom of Israel which brings about the end fails to have ears to hear these words of Yehoshua.

The Abomination of Desolation

15 When therefore you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let them who read understand), 16 then let them that are in Judah flee unto the mountains: 17 let him that is on the housetop not go down to take out things that are in his house: 18 and let him that is in the field not return back to take his cloak. 19 But woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days! 20 And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on a sabbath: 21 for then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. 23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is the Christ, or, Here; believe [it] not. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. 25 Behold, I have told you beforehand. 26 If therefore they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the wilderness; go not forth: Behold, he is in the inner chambers; believe [it] not. 27 For as the lightning comes forth from the east, and is seen even unto the west; so shall be the coming of the Son of man. 28 Wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

<>>>> MCK notes:  All who read of this are enjoined by the Spirit to understand the prophetic stages of this revelation.  Every prophetic instance of such a revelatory judgment such as this are seen from Above as folded into one, though the instances in their prophetic stages of development might be separated by long periods of time.  The first instance of the prophecy of the abomination of desolation has already occurred at the destruction of the Temple and the destruction of Jerusalem.  This we see was the manifestation of the Roman Empire as the fourth beast of Daniel's vision.  Another, and final, instance of this abomination of desolation is still to come.  The reference here to the days being shortened for the sake of Israel's salvation is a literal reference to that time.  It is the same reference that is being made in Revelation 10:7, where we read of there being no more time, when the seventh angel is about to blow the seventh horn.  The expressions, "no more time", and "shortened days", refer to an alteration in the way the time of the present world works.  Such an alteration happened in response to the prayer of Joshua.  Victory over the nations when Israel entered the Land was prophetic of the victory of Messianic Israel when Jerusalem embraces the Lamb of God.  The way time works in the present world has to do with principles of preparation for the redemption of the Adam.  These principles of time are designed to bring about repentance in Humanity.  When there is no more time, when the days are shortened for the sake of the chosen nation, it will be because the time for preparation for the repentance of Humanity is complete and nothing more can be done.  Time can then be collapsed and expanded all at once, as it was when the sun was made to set at a rate that was measured only according to Joshua's prayer.  This occurs because beginning with the resurrection of Yehoshua the Mashiach of Israel the Eternal World To Come began to enter into and transfigure This World of Limited Time, so that Limited Time was folded backward and forward, even to Joshua, even to Abraham and Moshe, unto Elijah and finally unto the day when Mashiach stands with all the virgin tribes of Israel on Mt. Zion.  This mystery will be made plain.  At the present it is still the mystery, the concealment of Mashiach, which causes the scavengers to gather, for it is still the concealment which is bringing judgment.  Soon it will be the revelation of Mashiach which brings judgment.

The Coming of the Son of Man

29 But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send forth his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

>>>> MCK notes:  All the transgression of the Adam shall be brought into the heavenly court and all shall be judged and all shall be rectified by the revelation of the Son of Adam.

The Lesson of the Fig Tree

32 Now from the fig tree learn her parable: when her branch is now become tender, and puts forth its leaves, you know that the summer is near; 33 even so you also, when you see all these things, know that he is near, [even] at the doors. 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished. 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

>>>> MCK notes:  All these things that must be seen are first the indicator signs and then also the signs of fulfillment, the Good News of the Messianic Kingdom of Israel being announced to the ends of the earth, the tribulation of the faithful and the trial of all the world and the manifest control of Limited Time by the Eternal, resurrected Hand of Mashiach.  As the whole generation that saw the destruction of the Temple and of Jerusalem was prophetic, because it was the generation of his appearing, so is the generation that opens the gates to his coming again.

No One Knows That Day and Hour

36 But of that day and hour knows no one, not even the angels of heaven, neither the Son, but the Father only. 37 And as [were] the days of Noah, so shall be the coming of the Son of man. 38 For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, 39 and they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall be the coming of the Son of man. 40 Then shall two man be in the field; one is taken, and one is left: 41 two women [shall be] grinding at the mill; one is taken, and one is left. 42 Watch therefore: for you know not on what day your Lord comes. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken through. 44 Therefore be you also ready; for in an hour that you think not the Son of man comes.
45 Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath set over his household, to give them their food in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he comes shall find so doing. 47 Verily I say unto you, that he will set him over all that he hath. 48 But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord tarries; 49 and shall begin to beat his fellow-servants, and shall eat and drink with the drunken; 50 the lord of that servant shall come in a day when he expects not, and in an hour when he knows not, 51 and shall cut him asunder, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.

>>>> MCK notes:  All of the Adam shall be redeemed, yet no one but the Creator knows the right and true definition of the Adam, as the Creator desires the Adam to be with Him for all eternity.  This is a word concerning the redemption of the Adam and the preparation for the redemption of the Adam in the present world of limited time that G-d has not fully revealed yet — for when He does it will be finished and over.  He has not yet fully expressed the word of this new and redeemed creation.  He has fully expressed it in Mashiach Yehoshua but not yet fully in Israel, in the Adam.  He has expressed it in the death and resurrection of Mashiach for Israel, for the Adam, but has not fully applied this or revealed how He will apply it.  This is to say that this knowledge is not yet fully made known in the Son.  As the Son waits upon the Father, as a word that waits upon the mind and will, so we must wait in this spirit.  And if we do not wait in this spirit and in this faith then we join sides with the final rebellion against the Father of all creation, the father of Yehoshua the Mashiach of Israel.

My Commentary and Notes for the Good News Record of Matthew

We begin with the three sections of 14 generations. What is the significance of this?
First, the section of the fourteen generations of Adam is defined as Israel. To see this we will compare this genealogy in Matthew with the one given in Luke, then we will explain this. Next the second section of the fourteen generations of Israel is defined as Israel in preparation for the Son of Adam. This is until the exile into Babylon. Then the third section of fourteen generations Israel is defined as Israel being brought to Mashiach and presented to Mashiach to become the bride of Mashiach as the Last Adam.

On the Issue of The Virgin Birth

Matthew 1:22-23 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

We read in Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. That is the King James Version.  In the Jewish Publication Society translation we have: Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: behold, the young woman shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
The Hebrew is: לכן יתן אדני הוא לכם--אות  הנה העלמה הרה וילדת בן וקראתשמו עמנו אל ...  We are led to the following considerations:

Matthew
Chapter 1 Text

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
The healed came in great crowds to seek new Torah teachings from the healer. They came in such a great crowd on the mountain that they cold not be refused. Those who were the poorest in spirit came to the front. These were the spiritual orphans for whom the true spiritual son would be moved to compassion, and by having compassion upon these orphans the son would come to maturity and to the place of his inheritance.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are those who mourn with all the creatures of God who "groan and travail together in pain, waiting for the manifestation of the children of God". These creatures are truly blessed. For a new birth shall come. And they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they who do not see themselves as being entitled to judge even those who offend them or who threaten them; who are meek because they fear the Lord God of Israel. For he will be their salvation and deliverance, and will make them the caretakers of his coming newborn earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.
Righteousness is the root of the tree of life. Righteousness is the root that gathers in, takes up and learns the way of God's actions. The way of God's actions is the water of life flowing to the tree of life. Oh that all the little children of Adam, of the man and the woman, would know a sky filled with a light that is like a rain gently falling, watering all things with the knowledge of Israel's God! That time is coming! That day will dawn!
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall be shown mercy.
Be merciful unto others, as you would have others be merciful unto you. And if you would be just unto others, let it be with a justice that seeks the way of mercy. For when we show mercy we find mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
It is those whose heart is pure, whose obedience is pure in going up to Jerusalem to meet with God who, in being seen by God, will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are those who will lay down their lives in faith in order to remove fear from the world. The first and final source of all friction and conflict between people is the fear of death. Out of this fear Adam sinned. Blessed are those who accept humiliation by the power of divine grace in order to bring peace, for they will be called the brothers and sisters of the son of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
A world that is broken, a world with its bones shattered, cannot give success to all its children. Some of them it will make victims. Some of them it will make scapegoats. For this, such a world could be easily condemned. But who will show it mercy? Who would save such a world? Anyone who would choose to save such a world must face its returning evil for good, persecution for a voice of truth. God chooses to save such a world as this. The Messiah of Israel chooses to serve his God in saving such a world as this. Blessed are all those who are persecuted because they are attached to him. The salvation of the world shall be their joy! The healing of its bones shall be their happiness and laughter, their great reward. And they shall breathe the air of righteousness in a world without end. For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Verses 1-4
When Yehoshua came down from the mountainside…
The incident that immediately follows the Sermon on the Mount is a story that illustrates Yehoshua's message that he has not come to make a change in the relationship of Israel to the Torah or its commandments. When the man with leprosy is healed, Yehoshua instructs him not to go and immediately tell his friends, family and community but to obey the commandments prescribed in the Torah for a leper who is healed of leprosy (by any means) as a testimony to them.
What is this testimony that Yehoshua desires? It is the testimony that he is the one who God will anoint as Messiah of the Torah. The change that Yehoshua will bring is not a change in the Torah, therefore, but a change in Israel. As he has healed this leper from leprosy, so will he heal Israel from sin. When the healing of Israel from sin is complete, the Torah will be completely in Israel's heart and the evil inclination will enslaved to the holy spirit within her, so that no transgression will be found in her. That only the joy of the performance of all God's commandments will be seen in her will be a testimony to all her friends and community, the nations all around her, that Yehoshua was sent to her by the Father.

Matthew 9 ˙Commentary and Notes

"Then John's disciples came and asked him, 'How is it that we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples do not fast?"

Yehoshua's following is seen as what in our language today would be called an Orthodox following.  Those of the school of Yochanan (John) understand Yehoshua to be a prophet and wonder why he is not following the way of the Pharisees with regard to the practice of fasting, as they themselves do.  This practice was to fast on all occasions which called for fasting without exception.  What prophetic significance, they wondered, did it have that Yehoshua's disciples were not being taught to do this?

The prophet Zechariah (8:19), had foretold a time when certain fasts in Israel would be turned into holidays of joy.  Did the practice of Yehoshua's followers prophetically indicate the soon coming fulfillment of this prophecy from Zechariah?  Note how Yehoshua's reply would constitute a Yes and No answer to this question.  From here is the teaching on the old and the new wineskins.  For, as in Zechariah 8, this "No and Yes" time is the time of the Great Conversion.
